BPOTS! - Be Part Of The Solution!!!!!

I love October!  This is the month that feels like it evokes so much mystery and magic.  Over the years, however, October has become known as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  We all band together to raise money for treatment and research to help those affected by the disease.  These women need a little magic and I'm looking to you for help.  During a time of tricks and treats, let's give these women a real treat and help find a cure.

In my Ebay shop, all the pink items I carry have a percentage designated to research and early detection of cancers in women.  The foundation is called Bright Pink!

These women need our help! Please consider stopping by my shop to browse the pink items I carry and support a good cause. Your purchase has a built-in donation that goes directly to Bright Pink! Look for the ribbon next to the listing or BPOTS in the listing title.

Thank you for being part of the solution!!!! #BPOTS

Sexy CYB And Her Hot Friends!!!

It is my personal opinion that the sexiest tank top style Lululemon has ever put out is the CYB Tank Top.  The way the front drapes to reveal part of the built-in bra and then drapes open again in back, slung low to reveal the beautifully toned landscape of a woman's back.  It is a top that easily goes from practice to party.

But it's expensive.  $64.00.  If you have some disposable income, I guess that's reasonable....even considered cheap.  But there are those of us who want that sexy look, without paying as as much.

I have found some great contenders for the CYB.  All hot and sexy....easily going from studio to street without missing a beat.

1. GapFit CYB Alternative - $34.95-44.95
   - easily the closest match when you see it from behind
   - very supportive built in bra with racerback styling
   - the top is cut long so it hits below the hips and tends to stay put...as long as you aren't going completely verticle upside down.
   - The only drawback is that the bottom hem is not hip hugging, so the potential for it to go over your face in Handstand is high.

2.  MPG CYB Alternative - $19.99 - $39.99
    - It's like MPG took three of Lulu's designs and mashed them into one....very successfully!
    - The bra is supportive and sexy from behind...looking very much like the Centered Bra
    - The front of the tank drapes more than the back, but the bra straps make up for it.
    - The bottom is hemmed like the Flow & Go tank top, hugging your hips so the top stays put.

3.  Forever 21 CYB Alternative - $13.80 - $26.00
    - YES!  You read correctly.....Forever 21 made a CYB knock-off and it's a knock out!
    - Sexy and supportive built-in bra with draping fabric in the back
    - The front is styled more like No Limits
    -  Bottom of the tank hugs your hips so the tops stays put.
    - Gorgeous and fun...and you can't beat the price, right?!
I am keeping my eyes peeled for more like the CYB design and if I find them, I will show you here, but for the time being, you have some more affordable alternatives to choose from.

No Limits Tank Top Alternatives - Update to MPG - Improved Design Option!

In my last post, we explored the various alternatives to Lululemon's No Limits Tank Top.  That amazing creation that has a built-in bra surrounded by flowing fabric that covers a multitude of sins.  Believe me, having a budget friendly alternative to this for me is a MUST!  While I love my yoga, I also love to eat.....and sometimes exercise takes a back seat.  On those days, I love my No Limits Tanks and various alternatives.

Last week when I posted the MPG alternatives, one of the obvious cons was that the bottom of the No Limits Tank did not hug the hips....that has changed!!!!

Very shortly after I posted last week, I found new No Limits/Practice Freely Mash-up tops by MPG that have the gathered bottom hem like the Flow & Go Tank.  Got that? No? Okay, so let's break it down.

No Limits:

Practice Freely:

Flow & Go:

Here is the creation that MPG came up with!!!!

So it's not an exact match, but it's close enough!  If saving your hard earned money is important to you, but you still want to took good, here's an awesome option!

More posts to come.  Next we will explore the CYB Tank Top and it's sexy alternatives!  Stay tuned!

No Limits Tank Top.....Let's Talk About This.

So, as I said in my last post, I love Lululemon and their designs, but just can't afford to indulge in them regularly...if ever.  Which brings me to the exploration of various other brands out there that mimic the same designs Lulu comes out with.  Often times, these other brands are WAY less expensive, but look, fit and feel just as good or BETTER than Lululemon.  Go figure.

Today let's look at the No Limits Tank top by Lululemon.  What we love about it and maybe what we don't love so much about it as well as exploring the alternatives that are out there that are friendlier to your budget.

    (Photo added from Pinterest)

Great Features:
    - Built in shelf bra
    - Loose fitting fabric that provides coverage, but moves with you and keeps you cool
    - Hip hugging band at the bottom to keep the top in place as you move through practice

Not So Great Features:
    - shoulder straps that DIG into your traps and are non-adjustable
    - High price!!! $64.00

Here are your alternatives.  Let's go through them one at a time from left to right.

1.  MPG "No Limits" Tank
  Great Features:
      - Built in bra with removable padding
      - loose fitting fabric that provides coverage and moves with you and keeps you cool.
      - great colors
      - awesome price.  $20-$40

   Drawbacks
      - bottom is not hip hugging, but it's still cute with a rounded edge

2. Marika Tek "No Limits" Tank
   Great Features:
      - built in bra with removable padding
      - double shoulder straps for better comfort
      - loose fitting fabric for coverage and ease of movement and keeps you cool
      - hip hugging bottom hem
      - great colors
      - amazing price.  $17-$34

    Drawbacks
      - the top is cut a little shorter so the hip hugging hem may not keep the top in place as well.

 3. RBX "No Limits" Tank
     Great Features:
       - built in bra
       - wide shoulder straps for maximum comfort
       - loose fitting fabric for coverage and ease of movement and keeps you cool
       - hip hugging bottom hem
       - great colors
       - awesome price.  $13-$29

     Drawbacks
       - No removable padding for added coverage

4. Old Navy "No Limits" Tank
    Great Features
       - Built in bra
       - Shoulder straps have more play in their elasticity for a more comfortable fit
       - loose fitting fabric for coverage and ease of movement and keeps you cool.
       - hip hugging bottom hem
       - great colors
       - stellar price. $20

    Drawbacks
       - top is cut shorter so the top tends to ride up instead of staying in place.
       - no removable padding for added coverage

And of course, on the end we have the Lululemon No Limits Tank which we have already discussed. You now have all the information you need about the various other brands out there that make a similar product from a person who owns and uses the products herself.  Go forth and make informed decisions based on what you now know.

Our society puts pressure on us to conform to certain norms especially when it comes to how we look and how we dress.  In the yoga community, it seems that Lululemon rules.  If you feel pressure to own Lululemon clothing....because I once did....just know that you have choices....choices that make you feel less guilty about spending your money on an article of clothing that looks similar, but is just as good or better than that expensive brand.  You can feel better knowing you didn't jump on the Lululemon band wagon, but look just as cute or cuter!!!

Namaste!

Kristen

You will find many of these same products in my Ebay shop.  Go have a look: Awesome Yoga Gear

Stay tuned for the next installment where we will look at another Lululemon design that others have mimicked so we can save money.

Shopaholic's Confession

It's true.  I LOVE to shop.  But even more than that....I love to find inexpensive alternatives to pricier items.  I feel an overwhelming sense of victory when that happens...like I just got away with something.  It was getting pretty bad, until I came up with a way to feed my addiction and get paid for it.

Case in point....Lululemon.  I love their clothes and their designs, but I simply can not afford to indulge in their clothing on a consistent basis.  So I look to the more discounted stores to find alternatives that look, feel and behave like Lululemon.  Some companies just outright copy Lululemon and sell for a 1/4 of Lulu's price.  I feel like a I've won the lottery every time that happens!

I am a yoga teacher and student, married mom of two and I have to help make ends meet, so I decided to see what would happen if I took my treasures to Ebay.  There have to be other women out there who love Lululemon, too, but can't justify the price, right?  As I suspected, I was right.  Just like me, other women don't want to drain their bank account on Lululemon when they can find alternative brands on Ebay that sell for a quarter or half of Lulu's price....and the designs are nearly identical or they are a combination of different Lulu designs rolled into one piece.

I have been really fortunate lately(can't say the same for my credit card) to have found several designs in store that mimic Lulu's designs and I have made them available in my Ebay shop.  Yes, I may charge more than some sellers, but here's what my customer's get when they buy from me:

1. My honest review of the product from both the perspective of a teacher and a student.  I won't sell anything I wouldn't wear myself or would gasp at if I saw on a student in class.  As a result, my yoga clothing collection is extensive!  Since I use the products for myself, they have been "field tested".  If they meet my standards, they are sold in my shop.  I absolutely will not sell anything that doesn't meet with my quality standards.  As such, the yoga pants I sell can NOT be see through!!!!  And more often than not, the clothing I sell looks a lot like Lululemon.  If I can provide a "Compare" photo I will, so you can see for yourself how similar the products are.

2. Quick, courteous communication if a question needs answering or more info is needed.

3. Fast and affordable shipping costs within the U.S.!!!  I ship worldwide as well, but cost varies with destination and I try to keep that as low as possible.

4. My guarantee that my customers will be happy with their purchase, but if not, returns are welcome with a prompt refund within 14 days.

5. My cost can also be considered a finder's fee....or if you wish, a personal shopper's fee.  I'm happy to do the leg work, so long as my customers understand that shopping for them is my "job".  Just like any job, I have to get paid for my time.

Like I said, I need to help make ends meet, too, and sadly simply teaching yoga doesn't cut it.  I have found this way to bring great designs to other women who want the Lululemon look, but without the crazy financial burden.  And like I said, my prices may be a little higher than other sellers, but at most, you end up spending half of what Lululemon charges for their clothing.  Not bad.

Here are some of the designs I carry in my shop that could easily pass for Lululemon!

Nimbus Stripe Sports Bra

Flow Freely Tank

Studio Pants

CYB Tank

Energy Bra

I am always on the hunt for great yoga clothing and athletic apparel....and if it looks like Lululemon and the quality is good, you can bet I will be carrying it in my shop.  Other sellers are pretty indiscriminate about what they sell.  I've field tested some of the clothing other sellers have on Ebay and I know which pants are see through, so I place them in my "Items To BEWARE Of" collection on my home page.  It's worth checking out if there is a cute item in question or you can simply contact me and see if I have any intel on a particular product.  However, if it's not a brand I typically carry, I may not have much in the way of information.

Looking forward to sharing my treasures on this blog and keeping readers abreast of which products rock and which ones suck, so you can make informed decision about how you want to spend your money.  You don't have to spend a fortune to look like a million bucks!  Let me help you with that.
